Me: "Who has the best seat in the house, me or daddy?"

Adam: "Well, Daddy's is nice, but yours is best. Your's is squishier."

And then there were six, sorta.

There are 8 people
in our family.

We all live here
in this house,
but
now that we have older teenagers
things are different.

The Bigs, as we call them
have stuff goin' on.
Work,
sports,
skateboards,
friends.

It's kinda weird.

The biggest Big
is gone to work from the crack of O'dark Thirty,
till dinner-ish,
and then vanishes till the froglets
are in bed.
(I can't blame him.  It gets really loud around here after...
before... well, pretty much all the time)

The other Big,
the long, skinny one,
runs.
And runs.
And runs.

Then he eats a lot of dinner,
and vanishes to the man cave for the evening.

So when it comes to
movies
picnics
games
outings...

it's usually just the 6 of us.
Candyland, Narnia, park days,
not great when you are 16.

We 6 do sit and cheer in the stands at the track meets,
so I suppose you could say that's 7 out of 8.

I guess when I really think about it,
I left for college when I was still 17.
It's the circle of life,
Simba.

I'm not thrilled about it.
And sometimes we do have a picnic
or a movie
that all the family
can munch or view
happily,
together.

It's just the way things are
when you have bigs
and littles
and middles,
all under one roof.

That's okay.
They hate being in pictures.
And I take a lot of pictures.
